Three factors you want always to ask yourself when it comes to selecting a real estate agent are as follows:

1. How long have they been in the area?
2. Have they served the community?
3. What is their track record?

Question 1: In 2005, I moved to Charlotte and started my career in real estate, working with a well-known firm in the luxury home market (17 years if you are counting.)

Question 2: Yes, yes, and YES! I have served in various roles and committees for the Neighborhood Association.  From free community workshops to annual shredding events, I love being part of the community I call neighbors first and clients second! In addition to community involvement, I am a member of the Charity League of Charlotte. Designed to raise money for title one schools and volunteered in the classrooms helping teachers and children at title one schools.

Question 3: From a performance record, I have sold and/or helped homeowners find everything from a multi-million dollar home to a vacant lot. This is the short answer, now, it is time to divulge the whole story.

If you haven’t noticed, I can be a bit of a straight shooter who likes to cut to the chase. Authenticity is a must when it comes to helping homeowners sell or potential homeowners purchase; there is no time to waste!

However all clients need guidance and protection, but we all need to feel valued when we are buying or selling (most likely) our most significant investment.

As the daughter of an Army officer, I grew up in an environment where order, obedience, and overcoming were an everyday routine. The resiliency around relocation meant new friends, new cities, and new experiences every few years growing up.

This often serves as a massive plus for those looking to relocate to Charlotte, NC, from out of state – I can relate to the obstacles of relocation and assist in making the process as painless as possible.

After my formative years, I ultimately called Washington, DC, home for many years, working for several Fortune 500 companies. Lacking the charm and interpersonal relationships often associated with small businesses, coupled with rigid policies and procedures, I decided to relocate in 2005 and pursue my passion for helping others.

Real estate was THE endeavor for me!

Making the jump from DC corporate world to the Charlotte, NC, real estate arena started with a 10-year affiliation with Dicken’s Mitchener & Associates. During this time, I learned many valuable real estate lessons, followed by six years with Pridemore Properties (now part of Compass Realty).

Some of those valuable lessons learned include:

1. An agent’s integrity is the linchpin for all solid realtor-client relationships,
2. Quality of service is a must, and this means knowing how to navigate contracts,
3. A variety of experience working with all clientele combined with professionalism has more to do with a realtor’s knowledge and dedication to their clients.

Backed by some of the most pleasing real estate experience and 16 years under my belt, in 2021, I founded Robin Hickman Realty.

Building a business that aligns with my personal beliefs and strengths is at the forefront of everything I do. Merging large business experiences with small business care brings the best of both worlds together.

I reached out to Robin for legal advice on purchasing a 13 acre parcel and she was quick and precise with
information to protect my family and investment. Very courteous but straight forward and informative.
